There's Still a War on Out There!

“9 U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iraq” – Page 12 – January 10, 2008

Buried on page 12! The greatest foreign policy blunder in my lifetime is not “hot news” anymore. It is very sad to see all the front page news being devoted to our election campaigns, when United States soldiers are still being killed and maimed in the hell hole of Iraq. The candidates for President have even backed off Iraq in favor of their domestic policies and agenda.

The media, and especially the Times as the paper of record, is responsible for this shift of attention away from the carnage in Iraq. President Bush, smug and believing his “surge” has worked, is off to bring peace to the Middle East, just like he established a secure Democracy in Baghdad. The American people, who have never been asked to sacrifice for this immoral war, are sick and tired of hearing about it and are glued to their TV’s and computer screens watching the latest mindless political polls.

Shame on us all.
