Obama in Iowa

Sunny,

We had the opportunity yesterday to meet with Obama campaign staff and supporters from Iowa. These Iowans drove to HQ in Chicago to brief us (illinois supporters), and a few undecided folks came to get a better sense of Obama. We listened to Ab Mikva (former US Representative and Judge, etc) extol Obama's virtues calling him the most intelligent and in tune politician of a generation (including Bill Clinton).

But more remarkably, we listened to how Iowans felt about Obama. And, to be honest, just as we felt in Illinois, they are all taken with his intelligence, his judgement, his humanity. They love him. Many of the Iowans were State Senators and Representatives who have already publicly endorsed Obama. Also there were the President of the Iowa Senate and the Majority Leader of the Iowa House of Representatives. Both of these gentlemen spoke so highly of Obama, and his growing strength as interest in Edwards fades, that it was hard to believe they are "undecided."

The message is clear -- Obama has the best people and the best campaign in Iowa -- and Iowans love quality and honesty. I predict Obama comes up a big winner and I am willing to bet anyone. Since we're not in Iowa and can't participate in their caucus, I hope that we all send any contributions to Obama for America so that we have the fuel to run the campaign to victory after the Iowa surprise!

Very interesting post. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am afraid that if "Hil" wins, it'll just be more of the same...red vs. blue... And we need to move this country on!

So agree and her divisive manner and since of entitlement truly is such a turn off. I was reading an oped piece about having enough of the Clintons and Bushes and I have to absolutely agree. We need a breathe of fresh air and a change!
