“Whose Century Is It Anyway?” – Editorial – January 7, 2008
Well thus far it has unfortunately been the century of George W. Bush. The only real contest this year is which Democrat will receive their party’s nomination. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards or Bozo the Clown would beat any of the current bumbling band of republican pretenders to the throne. The Republican message is tired, trite, tedious and tone-deaf. They are so far removed from main stream American thinking that it is almost humorous to listen to them trying to out-Reagan each other.
None of the candidates, with the possible exception of Joe Biden has the foreign policy experience we wish they had, but almost all of them have as much or more than Bush did when he took office in 2000. The next President will take office facing the largest political, financial and foreign policy mess in our history. For once the Democrats did not create the mess, but they are certainly the only ones capable of cleaning it up and moving forward
