We Must Win!

“Why Obama Must Win”

Putting aside for a moment the historic nomination of Barack Obama and the attendant anniversaries of Bobby Kennedy’s assassination forty years ago, and Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech almost forty five years ago, America must elect Obama as its next President. The war in Iraq must end as soon as possible, and the U.S. military should be used to effectively and quickly to clean out the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Barack Obama will accomplish these tasks. John McCain will not.

Our next President must restore America’s faith in our economy by repealing the Bush tax cuts and moving to eliminate poverty in our great country. Barack Obama will accomplish this. John McCain will not. We must see that every American has access to quality affordable healthcare. Obama will see that this is done. John McCain will not. America must regain the high moral ground and respect of the entire world community. This includes our friends and our enemies, and we must sit down with all world leaders to begin to understand each other and move forward together. Barack Obama is ready and willing to do this. John McCain is not.
Barrack Obama voted against George W. Bush ninety-two percent of the time. John McCain voted with Bush ninety-four percent of the time. Barack Obama wants to protect our borders and curb illegal immigration into America. John McCain wants amnesty for all illegal immigrants in the country. Obama supports stem cell research and a woman’s right to choose. McCain opposes both issues. Obama is for a state’s right to decide on the issue of gay marriage. McCain opposes gay marriage at any level. Senator Obama will appoint more balanced and liberal judges to the Supreme Court. Senator McCain has stated he will appoint Justices in the mold of Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas.

Barack Obama represents hope, change and dignity for all Americans. John McCain represents old Washington and old ideas. America has a chance to elect a leader who will unite the country, bring together our allies and enemies, and treat all peoples equally. Barack Obama is that leader. John McCain is not.
